Foodsafe Level I & II, market safe, whmis 2015 & ghs

Classes will run with a minimum of 4 participants to a max of 25.
Food Safe Level 1 Certification
Participants will learn how to avoid foodborne illnesses through food safety techniques in the kitchen, such as the causes of foodborne illnesses and developing a sense of food safety culture. All participants will receive a Temporary certificate day of the course, valid for 90 days. The BC Provincial Food Safe certificate normally arrives from VIHA within 4-6 weeks and is valid for 5 years. Min 4 - Max 25: Cost $70 includes textbooks, exams, and taxes. Classes will run from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Suitable for ages 16 - Adult+
Food Safe Level 2 Certification
FOODSAFE Level 2 is for foodservice owners, managers, kitchen managers, and executive chefs who have taken Level 1. Includes modules on Managing for Food Safety and Writing a Food Safety Plan. This is not meant to serve as an entry level workshop. Those interested in participating should already have been involved in the hospitality industry as a manager or supervisor, or are in the process of opening their own food service establishment. Min 4 - Max 10: Cost is $150, includes class materials, exams, and GST. Classes are spread over a 2 day period: 9:00 am - 3:00pm each day.
Market Safe Certification
MarketSafe is for farmers, food processors and producers who make, bake or grow products to sell at local farmers' markets, farm gates or other types of temporary food markets. Market Safe certification is completely different from Food Safe Level 1. Market vendors should have Market Safe certification. Workshops run once a month, Fridays 9:00am to 3:00pm, min 4 - max 8; Fee is $50, includes all materials, certification, & GST.
WHMIS 2015 & GHS (GLOBAL HARMONIZATION SYSTEM)
WHMIS 2015: Participants will learn the difference between WHMIS 1988 and the transition to WHMIS 2015 and the Global affects of these changes, including Safety Data Sheets and saving lives in the workplace. All participants will receive a valid BC recognized certificate valid for 3 years. min 4 - max 25: $40.00. Classes will run from 9:00 am - 12:00pm. Ages 16 - Adult+
